Live Acts to Follow (excerpt)

by Editorial Staff

The name Abysmal Crucifix doesn't evoke anything special, but this band has garnered a well-deserved reputation as one of the most energetic and entertaining — and by far the raunchiest! — heavy metal band to grace the Sunset Strip in a decade. At their usual home in the Whisky-a-Go-Go, lead singer Girth McDürchstein encourages drug-fueled orgies among bar patrons, to the unending chagrin of proprietor Mario Maglieri. The band performs with reckless abandon, peppering their standard repertoire with baffling instrument solos, delivering unique performances every night. They'll be playing with Valencourt at the Whisky this Friday and Saturday, before going into the studio to record their first album, Star Sex. Check them out before it's too late!
